Erik and Amanda met in 2005, being introduced by Erik's sister, Sarah. Erik is from Portland, Oregon and Amanda is from Buffalo, New York. Their friendship has grown into a lifelong partnership, recognized by their wedding on July 7th, 2007.

Erik started making hemp jewelry in 2004 after being inspired during six months of traveling through Australia and South America. In 2006 Amanda taught Erik how to tie dye and the result Erik's passion for making tie dyes that are all one of a kind and different.

Amanda has been making things all her life and has a wide range of interest and influences. Her work includes fiber art (shibori scarves and tie dye), polymer clay and chainmaille. More of Amanda's work can be found on her website: www.redeftshibori.com.
