Thanks for joining the Made By Hippies Tie Dye Newsletter. Our plan is to send out about one e-mail a month with some news about our tie dyes and where we will be vending as well as a special tie dye deal!

Made By Hippies busy Spring has now become our busy Summer. But busy in a great way because we are busy making and selling tie dyes. Our online sales have continued to roll in day after day and our vending sales at the Gresham Farmers Market here in Oregon have been going great! Last weekend we were at the Sandy Mountain Festival in Sandy, Oregon and broke last years record for all time tie dye sales in one day! So we are feeling pretty great as the rest of our summers plans unfold in front of us. This weekend we are going to be vending at the Gresham Farmers Market again but it’s also the Gresham Art Walk so it’s bound to be a busy day. Next week are are loading up the van and driving to Minnesota for the 10,000 Lakes Music Festival. We don’t have a booth this year (we did in 2006!) but are planning on meeting up with old friends and partying and I’m sure we will end up selling a few tie dyes along the way!

Later on in August we are going to be rocking steady at the 5th Annual NW World Reggae Music Festival here in Oregon. This will be our third year vending there and we have a 10’x20′ booth reserved in the stage area so if you make it to the festival be sure to come by and check us out!

This was in last months newsletter but in case you still have not seen our American Apparel Tie Dye video go to youtube.com and search for “made by hippies” the video can also be found on our website, www.madebyhippies.com – the video shows Made By Hippies working with American Apparel in April 2009 teaching them how to tie dye!

How To Tie Dye Dot Net website updated!

Yeah Mon! I&I have been working for a while on the www.howtotiedye.net website and I feel like I finally have it ready to go, only about a year after I made it so not too bad!

So there are two lessons online, one how to make a rasta spiral and the other on how to tie dye a camo peace sign shirt. But the great thing about tie dye is one pattern can be dyed many different ways for great unique results.

Yeah the site has been ranking on the first page of Google searches too!!

Made By Hippies 100th Tie Dye Sale on Etsy!

Yeah Mon! I&I just got our 100th sale on etsy today. I joined etsy on Jan 20th, 2009. So that’s just about 5 months so I am pretty happy. I have been making and selling tie dyes since 2006. Thanks to my wife Amanda for teaching me after we first met! I have really been working hard on my website since last fall and it has shown from the hits. On my website www.madebyhippies.com.I went from about 250 hits a month last summer to around 4,000 a month this year. It’s all with my just writing my website using html code in my good old notepad program.

But yeah I am happy I joined etsy and I am happy to have made it to 100 sales. I would say until I got to about sale #20 or so things were kind of sporadic but ever since oh about the end of April I have had almost an order a day, I love it!!! Sales on my regular website have been picking up as well.

Peace!
Erik

Reggae Music Links

Yeah Mon! So a while back I built a quick one page website called Reggae Music Links as a sub domain on my website www.howtotiedye.net.

I was just doing it for fun at the time, since I enjoy reggae music and was looking around at various musicians websites.

Then I check out the site recently and low and behold it’s getting all kinds of traffic! Actually it’s #1 on google for a search on “reggae music links”

Check it out at reggaemusiclinks.howtotiedye.net

Tie Dyed in LA

Man we have been busy this year and especially this April. We had two back to back road trips plus our internet sales on our website www.madebyhippies.com have really started to take off. So life is pretty sweet now. We start selling at the Sandy Mountain Market this Saturday and then at the Gresham Farmers Market the week after that.

Check out this video that American Apparel made of us working with them… I think they are still editing it but here is the rough draft anyways….

Peace!
